Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff and the Philippines It Girls setting Instagram and reality TV

Even before #goals was a thing, open-hearted celebrity Filipino women have long channelled the BFF squad mentally – most notably in the group of trendsetting friends centred around Georgina Wilson dubbed Manilla's “It Girls” back in the early 2000s.

With four of those special women – Wilson plus actress and VJ, Solenn Heussaff, socialite Isabelle Daza and celebrity stylist Liz Uy – later rounded up by E! for a reality TV show of the same names, we look back at some of the Philippines’ most enduring, influential female faces setting our feeds on fire.

Anne Curtis-Smith

The almost 15 million followers she has attracted on Instagram speak for the fame and success of Filipino-Australian superstar Anne Curtis-Smith. She started out as a child actor and now she’s grown into a woman of many talents – TV and film actress, model, endorser, philanthropist and more. This fashion maven has also launched her very own make-up brand called BLK Cosmetics.

Georgina Wilson

If this Filipino-British “It girl” looks familiar to you, that’s likely because you’ve seen her host the third season of Asia’s Next Top Model. Georgina Wilson has also starred in the E! reality TV show It Girls! with her equally stylish friends. As the marketing director of local business empire, Sunnies Studios, she’s mastered the girl boss OOTDs.

Solenn Heussaff

This Filipino-French multi-hyphenate is a TV and film actress, host, model, make-up artist and painter. After starring together on It Girls!, Solenn and Georgina went on to headline in a new E! Asia series called It Girls Besties. The two have been often compared to Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen.

Isabelle Daza

Filipino beauty Isabelle Daza never followed the pageant footsteps of her groundbreaking mum, the Philippines’ first Miss Universe, Gloria Diaz crowned in 1969. Instead, she became a TV and film actress, host, fitness guru and digital entrepreneur. When it comes to fashion, this socialite’s athleisure style is easy to emulate.

From working behind the scenes to sitting front-row at international fashion shows, Liz Uy has come a long way from being a local celebrity stylist. Aside from being a street-style fixture during fashion week, this Filipino-Chinese entrepreneur also manages a styling company, Styling Studio, and a cookie business, Mood Bake.

Bea Soriano Dee

Don’t be fooled by her low-key vibes, while Bea Soriano is not a TV personality like her besties, but she is one of the most stylish business women out there. This former fashion model is the co-founder of Sunnies Studios, one of the top local brands in Manila, thanks in part to the efforts of a certain Georgina Wilson. Bea is popular on Instagram for coordinating outfits with her well-dressed husband.
