Pia Whitesell was born in Chile
Born Pia Loyola Blanco in Chile in 1983, Whitesell is the youngest of three children born to fashion designer Angélica Blanco.
The four of them moved to Melbourne, Australia, when Pia was four years old to start a new life away from her estranged father, according to the Herald Sun.

Enrolling her as a model at the tender age of seven, Whitesell told the Herald Sun that her mum had seen something in her that she didn’t – “I had a unibrow for a start,” she joked.

As Whitesell’s fame in Australia grew, so did the criticism, with several sources branding her a diva, including Elle Australia, whose editors described her cover shoot as “more difficult to agree on than most international cover stars in this magazine’s history” after she refused to include her sons. Another magazine reported that Whitesell had reportedly “carried on like a five-time Oscar winner” on the Home & Away set.
Defending herself in the Herald Sun, Whitesell said: “In Spanish, being a diva is seen as something positive … so I don’t let it bother me.” She also clapped back in The Daily Telegraph when asked about the Elle shoot, saying: “It’s interesting because I feel like if a male sportsman said ‘no, I don’t feel comfortable doing that’, you would never hear about it.
